Ohio River Scenic Byway Kiosk Premiers on ArmorySquareInc.org

The Board of Amory Square Inc announces that their new website ArmorySquareInc.org will be premiering the beta version of the Ohio River Scenic Byway Visitors Center kiosk at Marietta Ohio online.   The kiosk includes directories about local businesses, community nonprofits, restaurants, hotels, shops and much more and connect them and their information to the internet.  This service is provided at no cost and will connect organizations and individual entrepreneurs of listed organizations in Marietta and along the Ohio Scenic Byway to the world-wide-web.  All that will be necessary to have the kiosk in your establishment will be to have computer access to the internet and a touch screen monitor.  It will work on a regular monitor with mouse also.

The kiosk online is for the purpose of providing both residents and visitors alike with information about the Ohio River Scenic Byway and our historic and fun town: (1) the Federal Ohio River Byway of which there are three sections in Ohio and the city of Marietta which is in the middle of the central section at the confluence of the Ohio and Muskingum Rivers; (2) the historical significance of Marietta in American history from our earthworks, the pioneers, the underground railroad, early transportation and early architecture; (3) tourist information on what to See & Do in Marietta, our museums, entertainment, attractions and artist scene and activities available Outdoors, on the rivers, hiking and cycling on City and Wayne National Park trails, sports and other competitive activities, and organizations that serve these outdoor activities; and (4) Directories of local hotels and places to stay, restaurants, shops, and places of worship, and as well as other local businesses and not-for-profit organizations in Marietta.

As a charitable institution Armory Square Inc took on the project of the kiosk as an educational tool for the economic development of citizens and businesses in the Marietta, Washington County and surrounding area and for the visitors and tourist who visit our area.  Armory Square Inc is grateful for the funding of the kiosk from the Marietta Community Foundation and the Broughton’s Ice Cream Social.

The Board would also like to thank everyone at Clayman & Associates, a marketing firm here in Marietta.  They have been great in bringing this kiosk website to fruition.  Jane Tumas-Serna worked on the concept of a kiosk website and provided the content and most of the photos.  In addition there were photos from the CVB and Clayman Associates and gracious help gathering information from Nancy Lee.  Thank you all.
