Armory Square Inc. is inaugurating a new brick project.  This time they are brick-sized metal plaques adhered permanently to the Armory walls as you enter the ground level.  It will be the 100@1000 wall for individuals, families, groups and clubs, as well as businesses.  Have your name permanently on the wall for a donation of $1000.  Don’t have a $1000 yourself.  Maybe you could work together with a group of your friends, your church, your club, with your co-workers, maybe ask your boss to help to buy one of the 100@1000 bricks to donate to this community project.   Here is a short tour of the ground floor and an explanation of how it will be used.

We all can contribute to making the Armory a mixed- use community center.  Many individuals have donated generously $20,000, $10,000 and of course the $500,000 Gutberlet bequest that initiated the project to save the Armory.  The community has stepped up in the past and there is an ongoing process for donations at this high level.
There is also the sale of bricks -- those who purchased bricks for the Veterans Walk of Honor contributed almost half of the cost of Phase 2 that constructed a new roof structure and reinforced the structure throughout.   These were $50.00 bricks that supported the work of WASCO and garnered close to a $100,000 for the roof.   It is this kind of community effort that is the hallmark of making this renovation possible.
We are at a critical juncture in the renovation of the Armory as we tackle the ground floor renovation which in now underway.   We have planned that the ground floor will provide service to the whole community.  It would act as a hub for economic development in downtown Marietta and as a mixed use community center for all.

The architects estimate for this work is completed and in order to contract this phase the auditor must have all funds by September 15, 2014 before the contract can be assigned.  To this end would you make a donation to be part of the community effort to obtain occupancy and get the Armory working for the community by next year the centennial year of the completion of its construction?
